Preparation
Print off the color or black & white cards onto card stock then cut to separate them. Laminate for longer use.
Gingerbread 2D shape match cards
Cards come in both colour and black and white.
The 2D shapes included are:
- circle
- square
- heart
- cross
- diamond / rhombus
- star
- triangle
- rectangle
- crescent / moon
- oval
Using these gingerbread cards
- Ask children to match the boy and girl gingerbreads containing the same shape.
- They can also match them by color.
- This can be done as a sort – or as a game such as with Concentration where they flip the face-down cards by pairs till they find the matching ones, or by finding a friend with a matching card.
- Use the card numbers to count or draw that number of shapes or objects
- Place them in ascending or descending order
- Find the odd and even cards.
