Digraphs: Qu- Words When You Only Have a Minute

April 8, 2016 By: Liz

I’ve made digraph word wheels for ch-, th-, sh-, and wh- words and decided I may as well keep going and do less common ones as well! So today I’m bringing you Qu- words!

These free word wheels will help your little ones practice their Qu- words!

Qu- Digraph: What you need

  • Download the Qu- Digraph Word Wheel here.
  • Scissors
  • A paper fastener or brad to attach the three circles.
  • Pencils if your child wants to colour the black and white version.

Practice queen, quiet, quick and others with these free digraph word wheels!

How to prepare the word wheels

  1. Print off the colour or black and white pages you need onto card stock, or plain copy paper is fine, too.
  2. Colour the pictures if using black and white
  3. Cut carefully around all three circles
  4. Place them on top of one another, largest circle at the bottom, smallest on top
  5. Line up the centre circles and push a paper fastener or brad through to hold them together

How to play

Children simply rotate the 3 circles till a matching word and picture line up. Once they’ve said the word correctly they make another match and so on! Or have one child choose a picture and the other child find the matching word.

You'll find free ch, th, sh and wh digraph word wheels to go with qu-!
