Free 2016-2017 Monthly Calendar

June 3, 2016 By: Liz

Edit: January to December 2021 calendars are available HERE.

Since northern teachers are quickly wrapping up their year (if they haven’t already) it’s time for the newest update to our popular calendar. Here’s your new and improved 2016-2017 monthly calendar!

This free 2016-2017 monthly calendar is fantastic to use with young children. Download your copy now!

Two versions

Did you know there’s an even split of teachers who like their calendars to start either on a Sunday or a Monday? I always preferred a Monday start since it’s the beginning of the school week and it keeps Saturday and Sunday together which I thought made more sense to the kids.

BUT there are lots who prefer a ‘traditional’ calendar starting on a Sunday.

So I now create 2 versions… which is somewhat time consuming but means that everyone can use the calendars now! Yay!!

Different national days

Since this calendar is used all over it’s created to be as generic as possible. In order to be a bit more adaptable there are additional calendar pages at the end of each file for 5 countries/regions.

  • United States: Memorial Day, July 4th, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Kwanzaa.
  • Australia / New Zealand: Australia Day, Waitangi Day and Anzac Day.
  • Canada: Canada Day and Thanksgiving.
  • United Kingdom: St Georges Day and Guy Fawkes Day.

Editable monthly calendars available

If you want to be able to quickly and easily add your own little notes into the calendar you can purchase the editable version. Once you’ve done that you can download every 6 month update for free!

Free 2016-2017 monthly calendar for kids, and the editable version is only a few dollars!

At the top of this post you’ll find a link to the latest calendar!

What are you using your calendar for?

Let us know in the comments! They’re being used as parent gifts, behaviour plans, parent and student reminders, calendar time… any more ideas??

Thank you so much for this! I place ours in my daughter’s Daily School Binder that I made for homeschooling pre-school and we use it to learn how a calendar works, the days of the week, the months of the year, and practicing on counting to 30.

Thank you so much! I teach kindergarten and this resource will help me keep track of all of the fun celebrations we can incorporate in our curriculum.

Thanks so much, this is great! I will be using this in the family binder my girl carries in her backpack. I use the calendar to mark down at which parent she is that week. It’s a great tool for her to keep a sense of control over a less than ideal situation.

Lisette, this is such a lovely way to use this calendar. I’m so glad it helps in this small way. You’ve really made my day!

Thank you so much for these cute calendars! I am going to use them in “working files” for my speech therapy kiddos to mark their own attendance each time they come.

You’re welcome, Carrie! As a teacher I tend to think mostly about kids needing calendars at home and at school. I hadn’t thought about all the other service providers our kids need. Thanks so much for letting me know!
